May 12th, 2008 — Blogging
I’m from Chennai and love cricket. Even before IPL had started I was looking forward for it (even got a set box at home).
I was thinking of starting a blog on the team I support in the IPL - the Chennai Super Kings. Brought domain, hosting and launched Chennai Super Kings Na Summa Vaa (Don’t take CSK lightly).
You might not find news (like players fee cap to go, Warne-Ganguly fined, etc..) and I want to post articles which you might not read anywhere. Opinions, previews, reviews and other tidbits be on focus. And as always original articles written by me.
The blog is running for quite some time now and decided to bring to beta stage today. Here are some of the post that I had written:
Cricket (and CSK fans) please visit the site, subscribe and support this venture. Brickbats and suggestions welcome.

It’s that time of the year where schools are declared holiday, flights & trains operate in full capacity, families get together, adults are frustrated and children rejoice.
Having born and brought up in Chennai and lived in Dubai, I find Summer interesting.
Here are some tips for staying sane and having fun this Summer.
1. Have you ever seen animals (in nature TV programs or in zoo)? They cool off by splashing around in water. Bathing is a must - whether you’re in Chennai, Dubai or New York (not sure about Antartica). I take bath 2-3 times a day. Try to hit the swimming pools once/twice a week (ogling chicks is a bonus).

April 28th, 2008 — My Movie recommendations and reviews, Potpourri
I read a lot.
I also happen to dream, irrespective of the time of the day.
While reading fictions, we tend to visualize the events as we read along.
Was reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, I noticed the events were not ‘moving’. That’s not usual. Movies (based on books) are like that. However ‘fast’ be the screenplay, I feel being stagnant. (Pssst: The Curious… is an amazing debut, laughed my ass off like crazy)
Movies spoils our creativity and imagination. Take Harry Potter. The Harry Potter I saw was totally different from what I had built in my mind. I have read each Harry Potter book atleast 5-7 times but I hardly like to watch the movie.
My Hogwarts was magical. Forbidden forest was creepier. Quidditch is the best sport ever (heart it more than F1 or Tennis). I was a Gryffindor student.
The only good in the movies was Emma.
April 18th, 2008 — Live Streaming
What can I say? A spectacular Opening ceremony, the exiting of ‘owning’ teams, bollywood flavored cricket, a Formula One car (Force India - Ferrari) parked over the pavilion, players from different countries sharing dressing room or the Washington Red Skin cheerleaders?
More on this later. I’ll post an follow up article here soon. Wait for it (want to do that on a ‘high’).
As always at The Newspaper Blog, we get to see the cricket matches online in your PC.
Open links in Internet Explorer (IE). Have SopCast and TVU Player installed. For more resources on how to use SopCast and watching Online TV, Streaming Content check: Little Known Ways to Watch TV Online for Free.

The Times of India finally started their Chennai Edition today.
It was interesting to see the competition and it’s effect overnight.
But what many wouldn’t know about is that the war started a long time when TOI announced they’re going to come to Chennai. Journalists were ‘poached’, design spruced up and better content for readers.
The Aftermath
The Hindu slashed it’s rates to Rs 2.50 from Rs 3.25 (Rs 3 from Rs 4.50 on Sundays) from today.
The Indian Express got itself designed and dressed up well.
The Deccan Chronicle did what it does best - news like “Mens go for breast reduction” was in the front pages.
So finally the much needed competition and choice for people.
Subscribing to The Hindu and The Times of India
I still like The Hindu. I like to read news and not who dates whom or who got divorced. The paper quality is good. Nevertheless I’ll subscribe to The Times of India as well (an additional 60 bucks to ogle at chicks).
Some gyan for you guys after reading The Times of India (and The Hindu) for over 2 hrs :- M S Dhoni would like Rajnikant in Super Kings team as he considers him god. Victoria Secret has a manufacturing unit in Chennai (never knew this before)!

I’m a big fan of StumbleUpon (my profile) and their toolbar doesn’t work with my favourite browser, Safari. StumbleUpon toolbar was the only thing I missed which was irked me when I switched to Safari.
Recently I came to know about Stumbi, the StumbleUpon ‘toolbar’ for Safari. Don’t except pretty icons. After installation, it adds to your Menu bar.
The Good:
We can give thumbs up, etc. with keyboard shortcut which I find efficient than the traditional way of enjoying StumbleUpon. Good as it’s lighter than the StumbleUpon Toolbar. (Safari starts in less than a second and Firefox takes 5 seconds.)
The Bad:
Issues are the lack of various small ‘features’ in the toolbar and the absence of the standard window that comes when you give thumbs up/down for the first time. The developer has promised more features (and a toolbar) in the next updates.
It just works regardless of the features which you might never use.
Note that you need to donate $2 before you can download it.

Do you know that you can register with TvTorrents without invites? Problem is you’ll have almost no credits to start downloading.

Recently Milind helped me with his TvTorrents account and I built over 11 GCredits to my new account within a week.
I’ve covered the topic on building ratios extensively in two articles. Have a Torrent Ratio You Can Be Proud Of and How to Improve or Maintain Ratio in Private Torrent Trackers . If you’re looking for more read, head to the recent article featured in TorrentFreak: 10 Tips and Tricks for Private BitTorrent Sites.
