January 28th, 2008 — I, Me, Myself

Jan 27 is a landmark day.
I made Chapati for the first time and had Mattar Paneer as the side dish.
Dunno what made me buy Pillsbury Atta the other day. I cook dishes but mostly have with rice or I buy Rotis outside. I thought I’ll never learn things if I’m afraid of the outcome and finally took the plunge.
The biggest challenge was to roll the dough flat. It was frustrating and struggled a lot as the dough kept sticking on the roller and was not in perfect shape. I spend around 90 minutes to prepare 7 numbers.

My first guest post is up on my friend Deep’s Blog So, are you doing what YOU wanted to? or….
I write about how to choose a profession so that we enjoy and address the dilemma that our young students face after schooling.
Some excerpts:
I passed with First Class (missed distinction by 2 marks-74.48%) and was ranked 9th in my class. I was jobless (happily ‘unemployed’- earning hundreds of dollars) for one year, post graduation. I learnt a lot in life than in a decade of my education. Two years since my graduation now, I know nothing in Engineering (’forgot’ what I learnt). I’ve a job (Product Engineer - Mapping & GIS) which is no where related to my degree and requires no knowledge of engineering.
Enjoy the 3-4 years of your graduation. Do you really like solving Math problems, drawing [crap], learning about dudes & events that you don’t care, study mug like a parrot, read Literature like it’s nobody’s business? Well, that time won’t come back.
For those who wanted to know more about me, the article has my short story and what I’m doing now. The first step for an About page for this blog.
Read it. Comment there or let me know what you think.
April 18th, 2007 — I, Me, Myself
I turn 23 on April 19th. Happy birthday to Me!
It’s going to a different birthday for me. Being away from family, no new dress, no candies, no going to Temple, etc.. but this is one Birthday that I’ve been looking forward for sometime now.
I’ve never been in love with my life as ever.
Regarding the title, don’t ask my anything about it. I don’t know what the best 4 things that happened 23 years back. It was a good caption that I read from my previous year Happy Birthday Post! Nostalgia!!
Now that I’m one step closer to heaven, I’ll share some of my life goals. I was actually tagged by Leo but waiting for the right opportunity.

March 28th, 2007 — I, Me, Myself
I’m a strong believer of Intention Manifestation.
Today I thought of something, wanted it and I got it.
Boy, I got lucky! Or did I?
I attended Microsoft Windows Mobile Gulf Region Enterprise Customer Briefing 2007 Event in SAS Radisson Hotel, Dubai Creek.
It was really an interesting meet. I learnt a lot of things and I never knew we can so much things with Windows Mobile. I got to see a lot of hot chicks, Fine Dinning and got a splendid view of Dubai Creek from the 20th floor Ballroom Plaza at SAS Radisson.
Coming to the point, Microsoft had some really good goodies to be given as prize during the event. Just a raffle like draw for the guests who attended the meet. The prizes included 5 Windows Mobile Smartphone/PDA, a Plantronics headset, a Bluetooth headset.
I won a Plantronics .Audio 350 Ultimate Performance Headset
! I had the choice to choose over one Bluetooth Headset, but I really wanted this thing.
The beauty of this whole thing is I really wanted to buy Headphones like that. Even though it’s not in the same league as Sennheiser, Bose, Shure, etc.. still it’s somewhat I wanted to buy. Now I got it! I wanted the phone (it’s of more value than headset right?) but I kept looking in that headset as if I wanted it.
You may think this is pure bull shit this dude is talking about. But deep in my mind I knew I would win yesterday. My heart was beating fast whenever a card was picked. Deep in my mind I knew I would win yesterday. My heart was beating fast whenever a card was picked.
If you want to learn and know more on Intension Manifestation, How Intentions Manifests, etc.. then I recommend you to read Steve Pavlina’s Personality Development Blog.
Why you should you always think positively
If you believe in Intention manifestation, then your attitude changes, your perspective changes. Let me show how intention manifestation is interlinked to many other things.
You believe that Intention Manifests. Then you think positively because you want good things to happen. You become an optimist. You become what you want to be. You believe that Intention Manifests. Then you think positively because you want good things to happen. You become an optimist. You become what you want to be. You can also add one more thing. Your mind ‘knows’ something is going to happen. You start to believe in your guts. Isn’t it interesting how a simple thought can change your life? All this starts from a single thing which you need to do. Just think positively! No matter in what situation you’re in.
I feel, we really manifest our intentions. We really control the way we live and our life. You should control your future rather than the future controlling you. You should act, not react. I will manifest my ambitions and goals in my life. Even you should do.
Take my word. I repeat… you CAN achieve your goals. You CAN live your dreams!
January 18th, 2007 — I, Me, Myself, My Days in Dubai
..but just to ensure you that I didn’t get drunk.
We had our Annual Party and any such parties are synonymous with alcohol. I never really tried out anything like this before but today it was the day when I tasted them. We got one coupon each to have ’something’ in the bar at the club. You can naturally imagine the value of these coupons.
Cocktails!
I never planned to taste (or drink) but when many of my colleagues were drinking, I was curious to know how it tasted. So I started off with Vodka. Then Red Label Whisky. Both tasted like shit. It was bitter and little ‘warm’. Ok, I was fed up with this things as I didn’t like the taste. Then after some time I tried Carlsberg Beer. Even that was shit. Then time passed and then I tried this Bacardi White Rum with spirit. That was ok and tasted like soda only. Would have had that for 4-5 times in small quantities.
All this things, I never really got for myself, but had some small quantities when my friends were having those. Today I got to drink Red Bull (’energy’ drink) also. Nothing like any energy boost happened.
So nothing really happened, no kick, no high but little (very mild actually) unsteadiness. But I was told that this happens if you drink for the first time or drinking after a long time.
I never smoke (never even tried it) and drink. Or even plan to do them. I’m going to live for one time only. I don’t want to spoil my health on these things.
I don’t know why people like to drink something that is seriously tasting like shit.

Everyone wants to be rich and I’m no exception.
Being rich and wealthy is relative. I might be satisfied with one level of financial independence, but the same level might not be satisfying for you. For me being rich is more than just be financially independent.
I don’t want to be rich only to laugh all the way to bank, or want people to respect me or get a good girl (as my wife) only that I’m rich.
I must have some things done in my life, for which I need some money. I got this idea from this blog entry: Why do you want to be rich? Read the ending quotes of this entry to know why I it’s good for every single to have a goal like this.
So here goes the list as to why I want to be rich in my life…(the list might grow as need arises)
I’ll review this list once in every 6 months and strike out the goals as and when I achieve this goal.
Do a ‘job’ that I like for the rest of my life…so that money isn’t a factor.
My wife need not be employed and becomes a housewife (at least after we have our first child).
I don’t have to work when my wife is pregnant and so that I can spend some time in my home looking after and spending time with our child and my wife.
I can take good care of my parents.
Travel around the world.
Take breaks from routine life and go to place which has a beach and a hill (as seen in Cast Away movie, Lost TV Show etc..), hill stations, farms, etc..
Buy a nice little bungalow at Besant Nagar, Chennai with elegant furniture.
Bask in dream PC with 7.1 Altec Lansing sound system, Sennheiser headphones, Bose music system, good notebook, 50″ LCD HD-TV, a cool and hop mobile phone, etc..
Buy books and have a small library. I love books more than I love computers and electronics things.
I feel, unless you have motives as to why you want to be rich, you’ll never be as wealthy as you wanted and always dreamt off. By writing down the motives (in your journal, etc..) and publishing it (as I have done here) makes you feel uneasy and work towards your financial goal plus you know what to do with the money when you’re rich.
The secret funda to become rich is that you should never be happy with what you have unless and until you’re financial goal is achieved.
