You don’t get full speed while downloading from a Public Tracker. The same is the case while uploading to a Private Tracker.
How much ever be the peers, we don’t get maximum speed. The case with the Private Trackers uploading is a different issue. There are none to download what you’re trying to seed. Sometimes you don’t even want to download as the speed might be low anyway or don’t upload as you can afford to maintain ratio.
Often people ask me what to do and how I manage. Martin is fed up and asks what to do:
i just don’t wanna use the public
trackers anymore ’cause it’s very slow
What that is to follow might not be new to ’seasoned torrenters’ but I want to drive home one point for the rest of us.
Be patient.
What should you do?
It’s simple and common sense should prevail. I just download/upload more than one file at a time. If I have time, then I look if the torrent makes use of full BW, otherwise by default I just run more than one file to download/upload for public/private trackers.
Patience Pays
It really does.
When you are into P2P, see the number of occasions that requires you be patient…
- wait for the DVD/HD Rip release
- wait for an invite to your favorite Private Tracker
- wait for the file to be downloaded fully (can be a agonizing wait if it’s a porn 
)
- wait for peers when stuck at 99.9% (believe me, you would be surprised as how many people suffer from the “99.9% syndrome”)
- keep the torrent running if the download is going slow
- keep uploading the file for months to maintain a decent ratio
- what do you do if you delete the RARs before extracting? Wait for the file to be downloaded again.
Wait, wait, wait…patiently.
I believe we need loads of patience in this P2P business. Else pay for uploads, get in private trackers, watch from TV, rent/buy DVDs, beg/borrow/steal from others.
Go, max out your BW.

I had been through that 99.9% syndrome before. While one could do nothing other than being patient, some tricks might come handy like :
>>Seeding the free/golden torrents
>>There are a lots of leechers for porn, so if your pvt site has a Porn category, its a good idea to download 1 or 2 and seed them at full speed and for as long as possible. I had great success with this one
>>Public tracker are great too, before starting to download from a pvt tracker, just browse through some public trackers, you are bound to get a sell seeded torrents. This won’t work for HD stuff but works great if you want DVDrips of English Movies
>>If you have 2 computers, put them in to bussiness, try different clients
>>Sometimes paying is wise idea, if movies is what you live and breathe
These are my suggestions, If I remember any I’ll keep adding them..

Nice tips. A seeder box is something I’ve always wanted to try. Maybe I can make good use of it.
What is the point of downloading something that you don’t want? I always download stuffs that I like.

I think we MacBoys are in awe of HD but not every one is like us and most guys out there prefer DVDrips. Hence my suggestion is for those who need Hi quality DVDrips.
Publice Trackers as good as Private Trackers for DVDrips.
BTW Ashwin do you use RS premium accounts ?? I got this idea because the HD Private Tracer that I use warns me of Hit and Run despite paying $$s. This makes me download just 2-3 HD movies in a month so that I can check my ratio. If only I have RS premium accounts I could download 20-25 HD movies per month. But I am RS n00b, so whats your idea ?? Do you use RS ??
New DVD Rips in public tracker might max your line, but I don’t think with older stuffs you get full speed. You also end up dedicating your upload BW to public trackers. If the stuff is new, you can good chance of uploading more than you download. So, what the point of Public Trackers? Public trackers is good if you want stuffs which are not tracked in your private tracker (but even then if you WAIT, you might see that movie soon).
I hate RS. But this is a personal view. It’s not the the stuffs, but also the community that I look for. You might also need to use another software like Flashget which sucks, again IMO. Plus RS is paid. Why pay for something you don’t like when you get better things for free. Do you get ESiR rips at RS?
I know it’s challenging to maintain ratio for HD/big files. TD is little relaxed. I can hit and run (for well seeded files or new files) and I can seed older files where with little patience, can maintain my ratio. TD got Porn (you might want seed and maintain ratio), HD (but not as much as HDbits.org or hd-bits.ro) plus your TV shows and movies fix. What I trying to say is why don’t you download from tracker where it’s relaxed? Or why not consider downloading from different trackers than from a single place? HD-bits.ro is not as strict as HDbits.org from my experience.
Well, I have a broadband connection .. SO I can surely maintain ratio by leeching - Seeding ..

Get into Private Trackers like Aradi or Bitsoup where you can get an account without invite. First get a feel and exp. then let me know if you want to get into ‘elite’ trackers.
