Batman 2 - The Dark Knight will blow you away.
It was a different type of Superhero movie. Usually our hero saves the world and along the way, we see his pretty workaholic girlfriend and some cool action sequences. The Dark Knight was more of a ‘masterpiece’ than a ‘Batman movie’.
The cinematography was fantastic. Gotham and Honk Kong looked stunningly dark and deep. With Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal around, rest assured that you’re set to watch a grand performance. It’s Tour de all-the-way-to-Oscars.
Some ohhh-ahhh Moments
You are sucked into the intense drama from the start. I thought the movie was more into the Drama Genre than Action. Nevertheless the action stuffs was edge-of-the-seat material and there was this 3 ohhh-ahhh moments:
1. Batmobile to BatPod and Batman-The Joker chase
2. Batman exit with Chin Han
3. Batman flying with the Bat-like wings. (makes Superman’s thing look like a towel)
The Joker lives on
The Dark Knight is Heath Ledger (The Joker) show all the way. Batman was overshadowed. When “Heath Ledger” came in the opening credits, there was loud cheers. The Joker’s opening scene (pencil trick) was applauded. Whistles and claps all around like a Superstar Rajnikanth movie. Never have I seen people whistling for the villain and want the superhero to lose!
We loved characters Angel Eyes (The Good, the Ugly, the Bad), Roger ‘Verbal’ Kint (The Usual Suspects) but The Joker was sinister, funny and brutal. Heath played the character of lifetime. Even Batman looked frightened.
Again whistles for Heath Ledger in the closing credits and for “In memory of …”. It’s sad that we wouldn’t see such an actor who can blow us away, again.
The joker. We wanted Batman to lose and never have we ‘respected’ a villains so much. Christopher Nolan. Thanks for this amazing movie. The BatPod. Ahhh…see the movie to see how stunning it is. The Dark Knight. Enough said. Reserve your tickets, now.
The bottom line is you get a complete package. Couldn’t ask for more.

The biggest ooh moment for me was the ‘pencil disappear’ scene !! Took me by surprise !!

Yeah, that’s The Joker ahh moment. Another ahhh moment was the hospital scene with the 2 faced man.
Just 2 days back, it was #4 on IMDb and 89% on RT. Today it’s #3 and 94% resp.! If it can sustain the magical 9.0 with more votes in the following days, then we’ve a number one movie.
I have been hearing great review about it from all over. Cant wait to watch it.

Watched this yesterday in Satyam. All I could say was wow.
You have rightly said the Joker’s Character was more intense and powerful than the Batman.
Saw it 4 times dude. And I can see even more. I’ll never get tired of watching it. Heath Ledger was friggin’ awesome. Too bad he died. If there’s a sequel to The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger’s Joker will be sorely missed.
BTW grudgy, check out iMDB top 250 movies. Right now, The Dark Knight has killed The Godfather.
Ohh yeah… TDK is the first movie after American Beauty to topple Godfather! Anyway I don’t it’ll sustain for long. It’ll come down to Top 25 or so (same happened to Wall.E), when IMDb give weightage to ‘regular’ voters and more votes get registered.

I saw at Santham as wanted evening show only. Satyam does has good sound effects though. Do you know the movie was shot in IMAX? I saw 300 in IMAX in Dubai and it was amazing. We should prolly goto Hyderabad to check out the movie in IMAX. Anyway, waiting for HD release.

There are some movie which can be watched over thousand times and still watch & enjoy them.

Do you think he died because of this role? I heard that he had stayed alone in an apartment to prepare for this role. Plus had family issues. Also the scene where The Joker applauds Gordon was not at all the part of the script. He almost turned into psychopath!

4 times in 3 days. With my friend on Friday, with Batty on Saturday, and with another friend twice on Sunday. The movie is just great man. No one other than Christopher Nolan could have made it out this brilliant.
And nah. I don’t think that could be the reason. The guy just couldn’t have turned that insane just coz he did the Joker. Well, he did go deep into it, and apparently, he took inspiration from druggies like Sid Vicious for the role, but if you ask me, it was just coz of a bad habit gone wrong. Now that I think of it, it’s really regrettable that he died. He could have done a lot more awesome acting.
Oh man I think I am gonna have to wait for a very long 1080p release of this movie!! I love super hero movies, first it was Spider Man series that mesmerized me. I never liked SuperMan or Batman, but it was about to change with Superman Returns and Batman Begins. The two were amazing movies. The Dark Knight is something that I am dying to see…

What’s the point of 1080p when 720p can do? It’s difficult for me to differentiate btw the video quality.
Aren’t you going to see in Theater? If I were you, I’ll go Hyderabad to check the movie out.

I might watch again sometime soon. I guess it’ll take some 5-6 months to see DVD/HD release.

I guess these no difference between 1080p and 720p quality wise, the difference is only in the size of the picture. 1080p is way to bigger in size, and its also future proof, just in case I get a huge 1080p HDTV!!

Yes, it’s amazing. With over 91k votes, it’s rated 9.5! This is not even close to the number 2 movie. At RT, it’s 95%.
This is a great movie, IMO, not the best of the lot. It’s the fanboys voting now. Once more votes comes in, it’ll drop down.

Didn’t you see Batman Begins? BatMobile is the ‘car’ and BatPod is the ‘2 wheeler’ that batman cruises around Gotham with.
Oh yes, time to watch Batman Begins again. Batman begins was quite a nice revival to the Batman series but it wasn’t as entertaining as the Spiderman. I must admit, that my motive for watching Batman Begins was Katie Holmes

Batman Begins is better than Spiderman and 3rd part. IMO, this is how I’ll rate:
The Dark Knight > Spiderman 2 > Batman Begins > Spiderman > Spiderman 3

Goobi went all the way to Mumbai to watch this sh1t. And it is indeed ‘teh awesum sh1t!’. Freaks I haven’t seen such a good superhero movie. Wondering when it’ll show in Goa so I can watch it again.
