Ashwin’s Guide to Cool off in Summer

It’s that time of the year where schools are declared holiday, flights & trains operate in full capacity, families get together, adults are frustrated and children rejoice.

Having born and brought up in Chennai and lived in Dubai, I find Summer interesting.

Here are some tips for staying sane and having fun this Summer.

1. Have you ever seen animals (in nature TV programs or in zoo)? They cool off by splashing around in water. Bathing is a must - whether you’re in Chennai, Dubai or New York (not sure about Antartica). I take bath 2-3 times a day. Try to hit the swimming pools once/twice a week (ogling chicks is a bonus).

2. Water intake should be high. I drink atleast 7-9 liters of water (exc. other liquid things).

3. Nimbu Pani or Bacardi because water is boring if drank for over 4.38 liters/day.

Makes Water boring

In Dubai - I drank Laban or Red Bull daily. Once a week or so - soft drinks. If you ‘drink’, then Bacardi White Rum or Foster Beer. These thinks are easily available and are cheaper.

4. Try to hit places with AC or with nature’s cooling. We don’t have a AC at home and I go to Library every week and pass time there.

I love traveling and travelled to most parts of India. Come 3rd week of this month, we’ll be enjoying vacation in Kashmir. Just get the fuck out of house - go to beach, forest/zoo, resort, somewhere cool.

5. Hit the beaches. Marina or Jumeira if you’re in Chennai or Dubai resp. We used to cool off in Jumeira every Thurday night (weekend). Get out of Apartment at 9 PM, have dinner, cruise in Sheik Zayed Road, have fun and return back at 2-3 AM.

6. Look suave in Gucci.

God in Gucci?

Posing with a Gucci Designer wear

Invest in a sunglass. Keep UV rays off, have better visibility and effortlessly look suave.

What keeps you cool?

Hehe..we ppl bore the ground and get water. If one part goes dry, we bore in another area. We also bore in public properties (ie Roads) as well. Hence no water scarcity for bathing. :p

I’ll mail you regarding Kashmir Vacation..
