I read a lot.
I also happen to dream, irrespective of the time of the day.
While reading fictions, we tend to visualize the events as we read along.
Was reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, I noticed the events were not ‘moving’. That’s not usual. Movies (based on books) are like that. However ‘fast’ be the screenplay, I feel being stagnant. (Pssst: The Curious… is an amazing debut, laughed my ass off like crazy)
Movies spoils our creativity and imagination. Take Harry Potter. The Harry Potter I saw was totally different from what I had built in my mind. I have read each Harry Potter book atleast 5-7 times but I hardly like to watch the movie.
My Hogwarts was magical. Forbidden forest was creepier. Quidditch is the best sport ever (heart it more than F1 or Tennis). I was a Gryffindor student.
The only good in the movies was Emma.

I agree with you, that is the reason why you will often hear “the book is better than the movie” and not vice versa. While reading the book it’s your mind that is the producer, director and most of all you are the main protagonist with your dream girl as the opposite lead, in simpler words - it’s your vision where as in the movie it’s the producer & director’s vision
Exactly ! i dont read that much .. but i agree with u. i read the godfather book and it was just fantastic !! even though the godfather movies are great! i still thought the book was better
The only good in the movies was Emma.- i expected this from u

We ’see’ the way we like - that’s the reason why books alway rocks
So true.

Just took the example of Harry Potter. Whether it’s Lord of the Rings, Bourne Trilogy, Godfather or One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, I find books are a better deal.
Same here man. Books capture our imagination .
I’m going to go the other way. I hate those pricks who at the end of the movie just can’t resist saying “oh, the book was much better.”
While books do give a lot more detail, they also take a lot more time to read than to watch a movie. In the end its the same story. So instead of describing how those mountains look and what the sound of the water is like, we get to see and hear it. All within the span of just 2 hours.
^^
Lol. Yeah to make a movie in 2 hrs, the directors have to cut a lot of shit in the book. So it looses it’s sheen.
Anyway I can’t seem to list reasons. Like the universal truth… Sun rises in the east. Books are better than movies.
