TV Shows can be addictive. Sometimes I don’t want to do anything on my Mac other than watching some episodes.
TV shows is my new found fetish.
This article is part of the new series featuring every month about the TV Shows I like. Serves as a good recommendation for you. Catch the first part episode TV Shows I Like - Part 1.
This time it’s two BBC shows - Planet Earth and Mr. Bean.
Planet Earth

Genre: Documentary
How does it look like when a huge avalanche is just happening in front of you? How does it fell when you fall free over Niagara Falls? Do you know Chimpanzees can be cannibals? Have you seen some of the most exotic and bizarre birds in the jungles?
‘The greatest nature/wildlife series ever produced’ with #1 position for the DVD and #6 for the HD DVD version at Amazon.com, a 9.8/10 rating at IMDB.com, is hands down the best HD stuffs I’ve watched till date. It might be for you as well.
Planet Earth is not the regular stuff that you see in Discovery, NCG or Animal Planet. It’s all ‘Wow Effect’ from the time you watch. It covers different stuffs of our Planet Earth - Jungles, Poles, Oceans, Rivers, Mountains, Caves, Plains.
Amazing Cinematography
Cinematography is what makes this unique. Some excellent camera work and it shows in every second of the video. They claim “Never before seen footage” but most of what I saw, was not seen before.
Planet Earth is the first ever documentary to be shot in HD. Watch only on HD format, you might not like if you see in other low resolution formats including ‘DVD rip’. Each 50 minute episode is around 2.3 gigs but totally worth your time and BW. Better still buy the Blu Ray/HD DVD disc and watch on your big LCD screen.

A Bird of Paradise impressing a Female
A Pride of Lions Hunting an Elephant
A must watch. Do whatever it takes to lay your hands on this beauty.
It’s an eye opener. This world is ours. It’s our responsibility to protect and take care. Never before I was so affectionate and fond of our ecosystem, flora and fauna.
Mr. Bean

Genre: Comedy
Many people retire and relax after a hard days work by watching comedy stuffs. Mr. Bean is perfect for such people.
Rowan Attkinson as Mr. Bean is very good. This comedy relies on his ‘wit’ and body actions. There are some things that are instantly connected to this series like : the yellow car and the lock, the brown doll, Mr Bean’s suit with elbow patch, etc.
Most of the episodes are too funny and you’ll laugh loudly. This show is very popular and doesn’t need my word - watch and thank me later.
Watch Br. Bean and let the good times roll.
Can you guess what two shows will be featured next month?
Subscribe if you don’t want to miss future articles episodes. By the way, I’m still open for recommendations.

Since Complete Boxset of PAL & NTSC is there but as you suggest it’s HD experience , I will get 1 from 720p & 2nd from 1080i & see which 1 plays on my TV without any glitch
Mr Bean is one of my fav too. I am going to check out Planet Earth after college.

You got HDTV (ie high resolution LCD/Plasma TV)? 1080i/p is worthless unless you’ve a matching screen resolution.
Madhur -
Check it out and let me know if you liked it.
Mr Bean is everyones favorite.

I have not seen the Planet earth, but no plasma TV to check it out.
^^
We have a 32″ LCD TV but I watched it in my Mac (1440 X 900). Your WD lappy supports 1280 X 800 naa, go for 720p HD.
Ashwin watch 24 its a very gud action pack series.
Yea my lappy supports 1280 X800, I’ll try on that.
Piyush -
Yeah, will check it out. Elisha is also starring naa?
Nirmal -
Yeah, it looks stunning. A must watch.
Hmm… need to watch Planet Earth soon.
David Attenborough narrates it. Must really sit glued then
For some reason, I’m always mesmerized by his voice
^^
Ahh… shame on me. I forgot to mention the narration and the BG music. David Attenborough voice is very good. In the US edition, it’s someone else.
Did you watch La Marche de l’empereur (The march of Emperor Penguin)? Morgan Freeman barritone is very good. He should done for the US edition of Planet Earth.
Planet Earth. The most awesomest shit out there. Worth it if only to see that monster shark plunging out of the water…
Btw, check out “How I met your mother”. Pretty nice. You need to watch like 2-3 episodes to ‘get into’ it.
^^
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check it out for sure.
My fav. moment was the bird dancing to attract a female to mate. Never seen anything like that before.
