Made Chapati for the first Time

Chapati and Mattar Panner

Jan 27 is a landmark day.

I made Chapati for the first time and had Mattar Paneer as the side dish.

Dunno what made me buy Pillsbury Atta the other day. I cook dishes but mostly have with rice or I buy Rotis outside. I thought I’ll never learn things if I’m afraid of the outcome and finally took the plunge.

The biggest challenge was to roll the dough flat. It was frustrating and struggled a lot as the dough kept sticking on the roller and was not in perfect shape. I spend around 90 minutes to prepare 7 numbers.

Surprisingly the Chapati was not bad, better than what I expected. The shape was polygon or like a football ground. Should get better with practice.

I’ve made Palak Paneer, Veggie-Paneer with Cocunut before so settled for Mattar Paneer, which was also a first time dish. Tasted amazing, plate licking good! I love Peas than any other veggie. Along with Cottage Cheese, it’s mouth watering delicious.

Started the work at around 8 PM and when I finished my dinner it was over 11:15 PM.

Close to becoming a Homemaker

Back in Dubai, I used to do all the chores myself. Laundry, washing dishes, cooking, Ironing and tidying my place. Now it’s only Cooking and places things in order.

I love cooking and can prepare a host of delicacy. Since, I’m the one who eats them, I tend to experiment. I can cook in different style; Tamil, Kerala, North Indian and Italian dishes. None taught me to cook, learned them by trail and error.

Only when you do these things, you’ll realize how hard your mom/wife work. It’s not easy as it sounds. I lost like 2-3 kilos in a month without any work out.

Slept tired but a satisfied person.

Maybe you can. I never claimed I make the best Mattar Paneer in the world. :)

But that’s the point? Why this challenge?

Thanks. Chapati was the difficult part. Made many such side dishes before so that was easy.
