For the first time, you’ll be coming across a negative review.
Got to catch up with the movie today with some effort to secure the tickets and I’m not impressed.
Retro OMO - That ’70s Show
People who liked the ’70s Bollywood might like the movie given the dose of nostalgia in the first half. Pre-interval happens in ’70s and post-interval in the 21st century. Many references to then Bollywood movies.
We have automobiles, costumes, sets, cinema all in retro style for one half. Can we forget Parveen Babi’s polka dot dress? Zeenat Aman dance and Madhubala in Mughal-e-Azam? Deepika brings out those memories.
The first half was good. Or atleast looked so when compared to the remaining half. Comedy was there and it was entertaining.
Deepika - When looks can kill
Deepika Padukone’s fresh, cool and amazing. What a smile! Her opening scene smile alone would’ve fluttered thousands of hearts.
Not much of a acting but she has the attitude & looks to capitalize on. Giving a +1 for her alone. 
Diwali’s Damp Squib
Shah Rukh Khan, a big movie, high expectation, inflated hype & hoopla by the media and this cracker fails to burst. Not even smoke (leave alone light or sound).
The only plus points are Deepika’s scintillating screen presence, good performances by SRK, Kiron Kher & Shreyas Talpade, the party number Om Shanti Om by Bollywood stars and retro nostalgia.
On the whole, a big disappointment for me. Expected much more than this. Songs (except for the 2 “Om Shanti Om” numbers) was not good, no story and crappy screenplay also contributed to the overall mess.
So is this the only negative review around?

could not get tickets for balcony and saw it from what they call ’stall’ seats here @ Dubai and the movie was really enjoyed by audience comprising of ppl from entire subcontinent …
the spoofs on movies/actors n other stuff like the Akshay Kumar bit really worked for me … i believe in setting expectations right before watching/reviewing a movie and had expected this one to be masala time-pass movie and was happy with what i got …
I rarely watch hindi movies but did like Main Hoon na , so this (though boring in the middle ) did work for me …

Where in Dubai did ya see the movie? As far as I know, no Cinemas had balcony seats.
The jokes were not only on Govinda, Abhishek, Akshay etc, but also the South Indian (it’s 100% Tamil, by the way) actors.
Watched the movie yesterday night. The first half was good and the 2nd did not live upto my expectations. It was similar to “Karz” but didnt do it any justice. Overall it was an entertaining movie, didnt feel bore atleast. Deepika was looking drop dead gorgeous in this movie. I can watch the movie another time just to see her.

Must say I am hugely dissapointed.
Now if this one got a better review than Saawariya and was this bad.. I wonder how bad Saawariya will be.

Well, i agree wih your review. It was a real crap film. What was Farah thinking ?????? Deepika was hot, and acted well. But the story was crap, ending twist was boring and stupid. i’ll give 1/10(For the comedy partaa…)

Yeah, I still can’t help wondering what the other people think. Even the critics, TV media seems to like the movie. Wonder whether they were paid to give a positive outlook.

This movie doesn’t deserve a review at all. I wasted 900 (150 x6) on this.
PS: I didn’t find Deepika soooooooo hot. She’s just okay.

The movie did not go as everyone was expecting it go, but still I didn’t felt that bored. Deepika is fine.
It’s getting mixed reviews. Some like it and others don’t. And we happened not to like.

Ashwin, Kudos man …frank review posted by you …I felt the movie was a SRK’s stardome showoff …and somewhat tried to point Bollywood star egos. The movie looked like another film fare awards show.
Deepika did outstanding job considering that this is her first film.
