10. Wild Hogs

Wild Hogs

Wild Hogs is a movie, you watch for fun, see your favorite actors and enjoying the wild ride. Wild Hogs follows four middle-aged friends having a ‘boring’ life. They decide to take their monotonous lives out for a spin, and try to relive the glory days of college - ride off in their Harley Davidson across the country.

The movie is a comedy-adventure with some laugh gags all the way. I actually found the movie inspirational. Someone who enjoys light hearted comedies that involve a circle of friends going on adventure trip with the lives changed.. will enjoy this one. Great Family Film!

9. About a Boy

About a Boy

A Bristish Comedy movie about a boy, Marcus who becomes friend with with a 30+ year old, Will. Both of them are in a way different from each other and they learn things from each other.

The movie got a mix of romance, drama and comedy plus a good story. The characters played by the actors so warm and wonderful. The actors play And what can I say about Rachel Weisz? Along with Keira Knightley, they’re the hottest pair of English ladies. :)

Will and Marcus become friends, and as Will teaches Marcus how to be a cool kid, Marcus helps Will to finally grow up. An unusual friendship of this kind between a 12 year old and a man in his late thirties is portrayed. They two liked each others company and never in a moment I felt a awkward feeling about their friendship, in fact it justifies there is no age barrier. It’s an uplifting and a ‘feel good’ film.

8. Harry Potter Movies

Harry Potter Movies

How can any Friendship movie lists, go without Harry Potter?

Harry, Ron and Hermione are friends from the time they meet each other. Other than they there are other friendships apart from our trio. In every single book (or movie), we see friendship displayed. We see sacrifices, for example Ron sacrifices himself in the game of wizard chess instead of Harry. They do anything for the cause of their friends without expecting anything in return.

7. Remember the Titans

Remember the Titans

We’ve the usual fare of an underdog sports team doing well more than expected under the guidance of a coach. But I this is the best movie in this genre, more than an average sports movie.

We have a racist school and the coach also happen to be black. They students practice together and have a bond to each other. When the other students in the school had racial fights, they were united and helped the society. When the boys come together at boot camp, it is incredibly heart warming, in particular the relationship between Julius and Gary. They’re ring leaders of the two groups in the film and their union brings the whole team together. They have one of the best film friendships, it seems incredibly genuine. Another friendship that develops throughout the film is that between the two coaches. They are never going to be the best of friends but the film follows their journey as they learn to respect one another and trust each other.

A film to watch to get motivated, never mind if you know about football or not. A powerful inspirational, feel-good film.

6. Papillon

papillon

One of the most under rated movie of all time. Very memorable, unforgettable performances and great friendship… an outstanding movie. Papillon shows a variety of emotions between Steve and Dustin. I think that McQueen’s Papillion was the best movie-acting performance ever. Period. No film ever comes close to Papillon in a good acting. Papillon is dramatic adventure masterpiece.

Steve McQueen meets Dustin Hoffman in a dreadful prison and they plan to escape. Instead of just showing the escapade, it shows the life of Papillon after he comes to the prison till he escapes at last. A good Adventure movie. During the course of the movie, we see some good friendship portrayed in celluloid by Hoffman and McQueen.

5. Toy Story / Toy Story 2

Toy Story

Pixar studio’s first film was a huge blockbuster and was liked by all kids from 7 to 70 alike. Toying a idea about what-if-toys-live, pulling out an creative movie and doing that for two times is great work.

Things like ‘why should I worry when you’re around’, taking risks for his friend, the toys staying together and helping each other out would be warm to watch over with your friends. It would be fun as well as

4. The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club (along with Ferris Beuller’s Day out) is the original Teen Movies and it puts other ‘teen’ movies (actually soft porn flicks) to shame. The classic ‘80 comedy flick which makes me nostalgic apparently for no real reason!

Five high school students, strangers, all different stereotypes, meet in detention, where they get to know each other, enjoy the day and discover how they have a lot more in common. I loved the way, 5 strangers become friends, do things in detention. In the end, their lives were changed forever.

3. Blood Diamond

Blood Diamond

One of really good movie that I saw recently. The movie is not of the usual stuff, yet very engrossing. A rare kind of friendship is displayed. An American who takes advantage of a African for his personal gain (diamond) in the end does some sacrifice for his friend’s cause including giving up his life. The last 30 minutes lifted the movie to a new high.

To describe the movie in a word: Unbelievably-outstandingly-phenomenally-amazing-film-which-make-you-think.
Wow that was a long word. :)

2. Once Upon a Time in America

Once Upon a Time in America

A movie which will definitely find a place in my all time favorite 10 movies. I liked Only 3 other movies (Titanic, The Shawshank Redemption and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) better. The movie is over 3hour 45minutes long, still not a moment you’ll feel bored or feel it’s a long movie.

The movie weaves a magical tale of 5 friends right from their childhood days till they die. It’s about friendship and betrayal. The friendship was so strong that even though his friend cheats him, he still likes him. I really like this particular quote when Noodles says to Maxie: “Is it OK with you if they ask me to kill you? It is not OK with me.

It must be the most BEAUTIFUL gangster film, ever made. Every scene could be a painting. One of the greatest movie ever made.

1. The Shawshank Redemption

Shawshank Redemption

If Papillon was portrayed the friendship between Dustin Hoffman and Steve McQueen, here in The Shawshank Redemption, it’s between Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The Shawshank Redemption is a very moving story about hope and the power of friendship.

The lines/dialogs are damn good.. like ‘Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying‘, ‘Andy Dufresne - who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side‘, ‘forty years I’ve been asking permission to piss. I can’t squeeze a drop without say-so‘, ‘Andy: You know the funny thing is, on the outside i was an honest man, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be a crook‘. Check out more memorable quotes.

I believe that this movie has some of the most powerful scenes in history.. like Morgan Freeman’s 3 parole commission, Tim Robbins playing a music over the gramophone. The final scene is very touching and makes you to think.

I must have left some movies which you might be better friendship movies, but then it wouldn’t have seen them or felt it might be not be appropriate. Is there any movies that you think I left out?
