Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Good Adaptation of the Worst Book

Grand Cinemas Ticket

When Harry was in detention with Umbridge some guy in theater yelled, “AVADA KEDAVRA!” - A comment at IMDb

I enjoyed the movie very much. One thing I observed is in any Harry Potter movie I saw (Either in Chennai or Dubai) the audience were interactive. The one liners, cheeky comments and real time views takes movie watching to another level. It was fun and good time in the theater.

An Impressive Adaptation

People who have read the books, will love the movie. For the rest, even if there’s tons of cut, it’s a good movie. Either way the movie is good and well made.

This is the weakest link in the Harry Potter books. The movie makers did a good job turning a 870 pages book into a 138 minute movie. Aloof from the Book, and you will be Impressed.

[Warning : Some Spoilers ahead]

Discluded So *Fucking* Much

The Dumbledore/Voldemort showdown, Fred and George’s pranks (their products as well their exit), Harry’s Defense against Dark Arts class were the highlights of the book which should have been showed in a better way.

  • How do you enter the room of requirement?
  • Where’s the Dumbledore’s Letter to Aunt Petunia?
  • George and Fred Weasley (mis)adventure in the school was a great read in the book, they could have made it much much better.
  • Why was Cho - Harry chapter closed so abruptly? It was more detail in the book.
  • What’s the mess shown in the climax, Order Vs Death Eaters? Looked too childish and rushed.

Take a look at a detailed notes what’s the difference that we see in the movie and the book: Harry Potter 5: The Book Vs. The Movie

Maybe the extended cut DVD be a proper view. Ironically, this was the shortest movie in the Harry Potter movies while the book was the longest in the book series.

Dumbledore’s Army

Amazing Graphics, animation, cinematography, the sets and location & the whole wizardry thing leaves you in awe.

All in all I enjoyed the movie. A shining example of what Harry Potter movies should be considering that we’re were watching too much of kids stuffs in the earlier movies. The second best Potter movie I liked after Goblet of Fire.

This is totally a Harry Potter fan’s movie. Unless you read the book, you’ll miss a great deal of stuff or not understand some things. If you’re Harry Potter fan just by watching the movies, then you do yourself a favor and read the books. It’s way better than movies.

Maybe, but I love HP movies however bad they might be. Always to see the things that I imagined while I read the books.

I am yet to watch the movie but I hope I do get the time to go soon.. This book on the other hand was not my favorite as in the case of the other HP books.

Did ya read the latest book? I thought it was great and only Goblet of Fire and Half Blood Price was better than this one.
