How to Sync subtitles easily

We have seen Adding Subtitles to Movies and List of the Best Torrent Tracker and Subtitles Sites. There’s has been many comments from our readers as how to sync (synchronize) a subtitle file (like .srt) to a movie.

It’s a known fact that VLC Player do has this srt shifter, but it hardly doesn’t works.

Syncing Subtitles

One of our readers ‘mereeja’ noticed me to this nifty online tool to do the job for you. Check out Srtshifter. It’s easy to use with options to shift the subtitle both forward and backward.

syncing a subtitle file

How to use?

It’s simple and easy to use if done in a way. After seeing if your subtitle is out of sync, just switch off the subtitles and play the movie. See the time of the first dialog. Then shift the .srt forward or backward, do minor millisecond changes to get the perfectly synced subtitle. Enjoy the show! :D

Bonus Tip: If you have a single CD version of movie. Then no need for searching for other versions, cutting and all the mess. You can use our srt shifter to get your job done. Just shift the timing backward (remove option) and remember to save me a cookie.

If you want to want an offline version of the program, then go for this .srt Subtitle Shifter

P.S. : Guys and gals, Can you identify the movie who’s subtitle I had chosen for the testing? Shout the answer or tell me if you knew the answer in the comments. Let’s see how many people knew it. :D

Then I think there must be some problem with the subtitle file. This program is simple, it just changes (add/remove) time stamp in the .srt file.

rahul,
do you mean you are not able to find the subtitle for the movie or not able to sync ?

I am a newbie, (so PLEASE be patient) that has NERO, and have downloaded subtitle workshop, (And STILL attempting to assign the beginning time and allowing the rest of the times to follow…not yet ) I am not sucessful at either “saving” these combined files from workshop. I cannot open the subtitle file from nero to burn either. I read tutorial, Am I missing a step? Your all getting it but me…Anyone that would walk me through this is my new hero. THANKS! auntychristy
