This is a follow up to the post that I wrote sometimes back : Have a Torrent Ratio You Can Be Proud Of.
The following is commented by “Cool n Casual” in that article, I thought it would be good to post in a new article. This tutorial explains how to upload a file which you have downloaded from one tracker so that you can have a good ratio in the tracker. You can also upload the same files to both the trackers as well.
Suppose you download “Cool.n.Casual.is.a.genius” from one tracker and want to seed the same file WITH THE SAME NAME on another. This is how you do it:
1. Download the file in folder ‘A’ from tracker ‘Z’.
2. Download a little of the same file from tracker ‘Y’ into folder ‘B’. Just download about a hundred kilobytes and stop it.
3. Now copy the whole file from position ‘A’ to position ‘B’ so that it is completely replaced. If the names are not the same, rename the file/folder downloaded in folder ‘A’ and make it identical to the name of the file/folder you started downloading in folder ‘B’ and then replace ‘B’ with ‘A’.
4. Now start the download again in your torrent client. Generally it will find that the size is different and re-check the downloaded files. When it finds that the download is already complete, it will start seeding. In case, it does not check itself, you can ‘Force re-check’ it.
In case you want to upload the same file to two trackers, then follow the above procedure to upload to the other tracker. Again add the torrent file of the tracker from where you downloaded initially and point to the location of the file.
There you go! Now you have a great technique to improve your ratio in some Private Torrent Tracker.

step 2 & 3 are not needed , why ?
I download Google.is.Searchengine.DvDRiP.Xvid.Ashwinr.torrent ,save @ folder A , tracker Z .
Then I got same torrent from tracker Y ,save @ folder A again.
You want to seed to other tracker then you should check the file names which we can easily see.
when I save from Y to folder A your torrent client do step 4.
Choose files according to how fast u want to seed & how popular it’s “pred” on trackers.No need to download all files if you downloading scene releases, get selective files in MBs (skip others) ,so you will download less & seed it to other leechers.

Point noted. But the problem is the same file from the different tracker will have different file packets. If you notice properly, sometimes you might have downloaded X MB, but when you check the same file with the other tracker it will be Y MB.

To do this, we need exactly the same file, na? I am finding it real hard to find the exact same size. I need to seed at tvtorrents.com. Infact they need all newbies to seed first to get some credits [ ratio ] before allowing even the first download !!! I am willing to seed but need to get a poplular file first with the same size.The same episodes have different sizes in different torrent sites and so.. i cant use any of them.There must be someway to find the exact file sizes. I tried googling without any luck till now.Any suggestions?
Also.. as i have read your other posts.. am wondering whether with our dataone connection whether i will be able to keep the ratio. Got the 900 [unlimited plan] but still the upload is 25 Kb average.. . The good news is that the downloads are much better .. sometimes 160kbs.!! But from your posts.. it seems evenif i keep my PC 24 hours seeding.. i will be having a tough time keeping the ratios… . It seems you were in madras with a 500/month connection when you posted those mails..and its sometime back. Now..the speed are little bit better it seems.

Yes, you need the same file size, but you can have different amount of file packets. Regarding the TVTorrents, it’s strange! 95% of the torrent trackers will have the same file size (maybe different file packets) for a particular release.
Yes, I was in Dataone Home 500, then UL 256k. Now for the past 6-7 months I’m in Dubai. My PC now has Home 250.
It’s not that difficult to get a good ratio. If you have patience and willing to wait, then ratio of 1.0 (uploading as much as you download) is a child’s play. Now atleast the speeds are better. When I was in Chennai, I got 6-8 KBps upload speed only, with that only I managed to have a good ratio.

I am from kerala but i did my BE in coimbatore and thus very much interested in tamil songs and films. Also have many friends there.
I will get a UPS with external battery next week and then.. i will be able to keep the PC on all the time and so.. i hope i will be able to keep good ratios.
I think i need patience to find the exact size files !!!
Another problem i signed at ARADHI after reading your posts and made a mistake. I downloaded a very old classic 12 ANGRY MEN. Now nobody is there to leech it and so.. i cant seed and my ratio is screwed and it seems i am not allowed to download any popular file to makeup my ratio. !!!??
seems i have to do the file swapping here too..

Yes, you need to see if the file has sufficient peers, otherwise you might consider not to download. That’s one of the advise that I mentioned here: http://ashwinr.com/2007/03/09/.....-proud-of/
