Pirates Of Carribean - Dead Man’s Chest isn’t releasing in the same day as they release in other Indian Cities at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. I dunno about other theatres but sathyam guys said it was distribution problems. Screw their “distribution” problems.
It always happens in Chennai. So much movies are released late here. Brokeback Mountain, Munich and V For Vendetta (yet to be released!). They cook some story or the other. The movies hit here late with reference to other cities in India.
I’m little disappointed. I was looking for the release of the movie. I liked the first installment in this trilogy. As newspaper report, Keira Knightley is a beauty with a backbone. Keira looks stunning and absolutely gorgeous. Any man would fall for her. Johnny Depp is also cool and portray a man with an attitude.
This drives piracy. Already it’s hitting 2 weeks after it released world wide and now we dunno how long it’ll take to release. I might not watch the movies in cinemas if it had any other actor than Keira. After all if they take me for a ride, I’ll also do the same. Who is the loser here? Not me!

As you can see, we have choice and variety. We have copies with chinese subs, French source, KVCD, SVCD, Telesync (TS), Camera (CAM), Telecine (TC), XViD versions, DVD-R and more! We have the choice to select from 700 MB (single CD) or 1.36 GB (double CD) some copies with 6.1 AC3 surround sound.
Soon, we’ll have the DVD-R and DVD Rips floating around. No one will be truly interested in watching the movie in the cinemas, after we get the DVD versions for free and that too faster than it hit the cinemas! Brokeback Mountain also met with the same fate. The movie was released recently and it hardly ran for a week. V For Vendetta is also slated for release soon. Even I guess it won’t run as they might expect. After all most of the English movie watching juntas might know how-to-get-movies-for-free.
Still if they take another fortnight, it’s DVD-R or DVD Rip for me. Even if I want to watch in the cinemas, they make me a “pirate”.

There is only a single cinema hall in Shimla and that also shows only Hindi Movies and if we want to watch that movie we have to travel atleast 30 kms so not worth it .

Weird, in my 10th standard holidays, I saw so amny movies FDFS and all were easy to get tickets (noon) Only HP: PoA got a bit rush, rest were ok. Anyways, am going to spencer’s again today, so will book it

IMAX is opening two multiplexes? There is this huge building (Under Construction) in Amjikarai (P.H Road side) that says IMAX is gonna come there too. And isnt sathyam building another on P.H. Road too? That place was previously a big bungalow used for shooting and parties, I dont remember its name, sorry. Its somewhere nearby and opposite to Pachaiappa college on P.H. Road chetpet.

Sabari INN (or some INN) was there before. It’s just after the Amjikarai Bridge (towards Koyambedu). Immediately after that building, we have a left which takes you to Loyola College.
This building is Satyam’s and not IMAX as far as I know. Their other screen is gonna come up in Vadapalani. So Gopalapuram, Vadapalani and Amjikarai are Satyam locations.
As for the Shootings and party, there was a building in Cathedral Road. There INOX is gonna come. It’s rumours, but anyway there is some multiplex shoping complex or Cineplex (maybe INOX?) is gonna come. INOX is an Adlabs ADAG comapany as far as I know.
Place opposite to Pachiappa’s is the second IMAX location, I dunno but the other one (like I described b4) is Satyam’s and IMAX other screen is gonna come up at Citi Center later this year or early next year.
Things are looking good for me! Cineplex and shopping complexes are gonna come all around my place.

Adlabs(previously owened by Manmohan shetty & Vasanji Mamania, now take over by ADAG. Adlabs having chains with thier own name & with collbration brandname also like fame adlabs( where Shringar films have majority stake).
so, no relation btw ADAG & Inox.

But whats funny is that just Sathyam and (name-for-sake) Mayajaal released it in Eng, all other in Tamil! Why isnt english getting popular here? Has to do with the govt or what?
Well, they give tax sops for movies with Tamil titles.
Unakum Enakum Something Something got changed to Unakum Enakum alone, but here they show as the original title. They did that to avail tax sops. Maybe we can expect a slew of upcoming movies with English titles to get changed to Tamil ones.
If you observe, then Govt. ads (TN Govt.) are all in Tamil only..even in English papers like Hindu.
So, the govt. like to promote Tamil, but that’s not the reason for less English movies running here. By the way I think they delayed it by a week, just to do the Tamil Dubbing.
The R|D|X is good, but what happened with Superman Returns was the dialogs was not that audible, but during the action scenes.. it was blasting!

Man, who sees them anyways? My friends once took me to Matrix : Reloaded in tamil @ Woodlands since no ticket was available at sathyam, I quit after interval and let them complete the show, cant understand!
