1. When in the rest of the country, students stage protests against the proposed 27% for the OBCs, here we have pro-reservation rallies supporting the proposal!
2. Only here, we have the CAS (Conditional Access System or CAn’t See tv) in place. Most of us are more than happy to pay 100 bucks and be content to watch Tamil Channels.
3. The aftermath of CAn’t See tv:- Only in Chennai do people miss out major sporting actions from Cricket series to Euro Soccer to Forumula one to Grand slam Tennis. Actually we enjoy watching News Channels as most of them are FTA.
4. The opposition party leader won’t attend the State Assembly, when voted out of power. So.. in actual there is no real “leader” of opposition.
5. 50% reservations in public transports for women. It’s a tradition that we should not “touch” opposite sex persons unless the person happens to be your spouse.
6. No night life. Try to walk in Chennai streets after 9 PM, you’ll have vagabonds and dogs for company.
7. We have the cheapest deal for Rice. It’s only Rs. 2 per kilo!
8. L’affaire Kushboo. You opinions and thoughts can be challenged in the courts (and they’ll admit it as well!). You should not waear bright coloured shirts/tops to colleges, cellphones are banned, kissing is banned even is private places…you thought it’s a democratic country? Think again.
9. The unique style of bus conductors to pick up currency notes in between fingers that not found either any where. (Thanks to multi)
Just take a scroll at 0530 hours in the morning in the Margazhi season when we have Kollams spread through the breath of the roads, womens with long beautiful hair with Jasmines, Music season is full flow, early morning rituals at home and prayers in Temples, pleasant cool climate…. wow. Can you experience this elsewhere?

in delhi sme 20 ppl also held pro reservation rally, but most of the ppl didnt knew wat they were rallying for.
oye mere comments spam nahi.
Wow.. it’s a irony that you changed your name here to spam man and the comments are not spam!
And like I posted earlier.. this 52.5% resevation is nothing man. It’s hyped too much. I dunno know abt Medicine seats, but for engg. and other stuffs.. the thing is blown out of proportion.
Rocker post Grudgy! You just echoed my inner thoughts.
1) Umm…If you are able to, read today’s Indian Express. Also, there are somethings that I can’t really say out here in the public and how much ever India claims to be a democracy it just isn’t.
2) I actually expected Maran to have this in the manifesto, damn he got beaten….. Shame…. Considering that he is the union minister.
4) And know what, she critiqued her rival that he wasn’t going to the assembly and urged chepauk not to vote for him. Shows that everybody has ego probs.
5) LOL!
Hmm… another irony here. MK won by 2.7k votes or something. JJ won by 25.3k.
By the way, don’t you know why they both don’t attend the assemby when voted out of power?

Forgot abt the Kushboo issue, added that.
Sometimes I feel chennai Sucks and sometimes I feel Chennai does not Suck… Can somebody tell which is true….
Chennai Rulezzz man. There is no second thought.
I love Chennai. Din’t you see the ” I love Chennai” badge in my home page?
Without doubt grudgy, no city rulez as chennai and sometimes no city sucks as chennai.
And you say “the thing is blown out of proportion”?? I don’t think so…. Every year you are denying 1500 hardworking students out of 3000 the chance to get into IIT and similar number for IIM…. Somethings perhaps will be understand when you experience things.
And why no city sucks as Chennai? Each city got it’s own “style”. Chennai is as good as any City in India. Recently only, I have visited B’lore, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata and I know how those city suck in some respect.
After experience only .. I said that it’s blown out of proportion. See my OBC reservation post and comment there.
lol!
Hi Ash,
Where man?? I can’t find anything..
And btw, MK won by 8 K votes. JJ by 25K.

chennai rocks even in the price of fruits in my view regarding other cities & some other things also.
oh yeah , there is 50 % reservation for womens in buses, you forgot the unique style of bus conductors to pick up currency notes in fingers that not found either any where. In Delhi the buses are such heavy crowd that u can realize everything around you.
Hmm.. thanks for that. Added that too.
As far as I saw Delhi buses are not so crowded. Atleast not as crowded as here in Chennai. In fact even B’lore and Mumbai also had less crowds in the buses. That’s a good sign. That’s why the traffic here is managable unlike the other cities.
[...] don’t know what I think, but I love to observe things. First it was It happens only in Chennai…, then Things that I noticed in Dubai and now how things that’ve changed in the 12-13 months [...]
Hey Dr.Drudge, you forgot about the autowallahas. I’ve not seen any other city where you don’t pay according to the meter. Actually, the meter is never used!! I seriously hate the haggling whenever I come there.
^^
Lol true. I also do the deal with the Auto man before I take the sawari. Where are you based form?
