We all know that BSNL sucks. So what’s new to add in this post?
The telephones in our area dint work. In fact almost the phones went dead. It dint work from 11 PM on March 29th till 4 PM on March 31th. Almost it went dead for 41 hours! They said it was a “major cable problem”.
Most of us don’t care about the telephone not working. We have mobiles and there are plenty of PCO here.. but along with the telephone Internet also wont work. I had no access to dataone “broadband” in that period of 41 hours. It’s very difficult to live without the Internet for 12 hours and now I had a ordeal to live without the net for 41 hours.
Another thing that was bothering me was, I had almost 300mb of data which is yet to be used in my entitled 1024mb. I almost thought that I would go waste. But it dint happen. I have a lot to download, almost 125 torrents in queue.. so was worried.
Still no unlimited transfers plan in BSNL Dataone
I am fed up of staying awake till 2AM or waking up at that time of hour. Nowadays, I really don’t bother about the torrents. I have given some torrents to my friends to download. I can no longer wait for that elusive plan.
There are some rumours that they might actually introduce new plans including unlimited plans shortly, but till now, they have not announced about the same.
My Dataone loves listening to songs!
Yeah, it’s true! It won’t connect unless you have some media player running with some files. I run Foobar (it’s light) and play some music. I browse/download while my dataone listens to music.I have no idea as how this happens. It refuses to connect if I don’t play any music!
BSNL Sucks. Period.
*As I write this, I have La Grande illusion (The Grand Illusion) torrent running in BitTornado*

We all are eagerly wating for any (official or unofficial) announcement regarding the Unlimited plans. If it is gonna cost less than Rs. 1000 for a 256 kbps connection, i’ll be thinking of switcing to it.
BTW, BSNL sucks here, there, everywhere. Man i’m losing connection, whenever call me or someone call outside. BULL$HIT! And this problem is persistant since i got connection, still they haven’t rectified it.
Even 1k is gonna be little costly. We have 100rs to pay for the modem and a 12.24% service tax. It will amount to almost 1.3k.
lol everyone has something to say abt BSNL and how it sucks. I have added more to the post.
That is I why i surrendered my bsnl landline and got myself tata indicom wireless phone. As far as is internet is concerned i use tata indicom broadband and it really sucks… So waiting for an airtel connection in my area….
My Dataone is even stranger, it wont connect unless the phone’s off the hook
whats the use of broadband ADSL then?

I also used to stay awake from 2 to 6 in the morning for downloading . And what did i get in return . A bill of Rs 2500 . They also charged the downloads that were after 2 . And if any problem occurs in the connection , They take around a week to solve it .
hmm… I love ppl cursing BSNL. Ppl rant here.. hope the BSNL guys reads this post.

No VAT as of now. But CM Jayalalitaa has already announced that we’ll have it implemented by budget next year.

well one of my dad’s collegue recently used the so called “free 2 month trial” offer , he got 8500 Rs. bill for that.I know that it comes with 400 MB package , but how many ppl exctly knows wht this MB thing is & how it calculated, even many dont know about no-free hours on this package & burn their pockets.

I just got BSNL Dataone. After browsing from 4 am to 8 am, I have noticed that the service records show the bandwidth usage at that time.
But isn’t it unlimited bandwidth at that time?

It will show the record, but don’t worry they won’t charge you for it.
Ashwin, how do I find out how much MB of Bandwidth I used this month (excluding night time, 2-8am) ?

I am waiting to get a BSNL connection for last three months now. I have applied for the connection on 17th of March, 2007 and today its 22nd June 2007. I would request BSNL people to start working and stop showing such an unresponsible behaviour to its consumers. I have done numerous follwups and after three months they are saying that they can’t provide the conenction due to cable laying problems. Huh!!
The kind of services I am getting on Bangalore, I am really feeling like killing each and everyone one responsible for dishing out poor services.
